Completion of unit assignments with 80% or higher accuracy

Successful attainment of Goals/Objectives as indicated in IEP.

Class participation, active listening and note taking skills

 

 

Monday- No School

 

Tuesday – Literature and Vocabulary

Students will review what the main idea of a paragraph is through the definition and classroom examples

Students will work on worksheets on identifying the main idea – they will be corrected and discussed as a class

Students will work individually on Single Skills – Main Idea – reading a passage silently and choosing the main idea

 

Wednesday –

Students will work on a packet that involves using the newspaper and itŐs various information such as classified ads, help wanted ads, news stories and the weather.

 

Thursday –

Students will continue to work on comprehension questions using the newspaper

Students will each get an individual newspaper and answer a worksheet with direct questions  so that they have to utilize the actual newspaper to find the answers.

Real world Reading and skills

 

 

Friday-  

Students will each receive and article from the newspaper and individually read it and find the Who, What, Where and the main idea. They will present their article to the class.

Students will then discuss movie critiques and write one of their own.

 

Monday-

Students will work on Vocabulary lesson 5 – They will be introduced to the words and make flash cards. We will do Final Check together as a class and they will be responsible for Check 1 and 2 as well as sentences individually.

 

Homework : Check 1 and Check 2 – Vocabulary Sentences

 

Tuesday – Wednesday- Thursday -Literature

Students will be introduced to The Three Musketeers

As a class we will read and discuss the book and answer comprehension questions to evaluate understanding.

 

Homework : Check 1 and Check 2 – Vocabulary Sentences

 

Friday- 

Students will take a quiz on their weekly Vocabulary words.

Students will each receive and article and individually read it and find the Who, What, Where and the main idea. They will present their article to the class.
